Codependency Recovery Coaching: The Pia Mellody Approach
Private 1:1 Coaching Rooted in the Meadows Model
When Knowing Your Patterns Isn’t Enough
You know your patterns and you can name your codependent symptoms. Yet you still sometimes feel resentful, exhausted, or stuck in your life. That’s because insight alone doesn’t change your life. Real, lasting change happens when you have a practical, proven system to help you bridge the gap between knowing what to do and actually doing it.
Led by best-selling author and Pia Mellody-trained specialist, Krystal Mazzola Wood.
Successful on the Outside, Exhausted on the Inside
Codependency is often the hidden reason highly functional, successful adults aren’t as happy, peaceful, or fulfilled as they thought they’d be by now. Because our culture actively normalizes perfectionism, over-productivity, and constant performance, these old relational blueprints become second nature. You get stuck on an exhausting wheel of over-functioning while looking like you have it all together.
Ultimately, maintaining the appearance of having it all together for others while silently crumbling inside drains you even more.
When over-giving and burnout are culturally rewarded, breaking free requires dedicated, expert guidance. This coaching is for the person who recognizes that stopping the invisible drain on their time and energy today is well worth the peace, vitality, and presence they will regain for the rest of their life.
Codependency Recovery Coaching Designed for Your True Needs
In our coaching together, we address the five core domains of codependency and how they manifest in your daily life:
- Self-Disconnection: Struggles with maintaining a steady, healthy sense of self-esteem and intrinsic worth.
- Boundary Dynamics: Ranging from difficulty saying “no” to finding yourself attempting to manage or change others.
- Mental Loops: Intrusive, repetitive thinking patterns that leave you feeling anxious, trapped, or exhausted.
- Relational Patterns: Ranging from remaining in unhealthy dynamics to perpetually acting as the “strong one” who takes care of everyone else.
- Life Imbalances: Difficulty making time for yourself, relying on unhealthy coping habits to escape stress, or swinging between extremes that sometimes make life feel like a rollercoaster.
As your guide, I tailor every session to what you are actively experiencing so your recovery moves forward as smoothly and practically as possible.
The Codependency Recovery System: How We Work Together
The process we follow is built on the methodology featured in my best-selling book, The Codependency Recovery Plan. Through this structured approach, you will:
Uncouple Your Worth from Performance
Build an unshakeable sense of inherent worthiness that isn’t dependent on external achievements, constant output, or managing the expectations of others.
Restore Personal Balance
Align the care and energy you give to others with the time and attention you dedicate to your own well-being – protecting your physical health for the long-term.
Establish Sustainable Boundaries
Protect your time, emotional bandwidth, resources and personal capacity without guilt, defaulting to over-committing, or sacrificing meaningful connection in your relationships.
Communicate with Clarity
Express your true boundaries, needs, and expectations directly with calm clarity, eliminating the exhaustion of passive accommodation – or needing to be loud to feel truly heard.
Experience the Reward of True Mutual Support
Step out of the constant caretaking role so you can experience real reciprocity, emotional safety, and genuine understanding in your closest relationships.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. How is this different from reading your books?
My books provide the map but sometimes, the application in real life is multi-layered and requires an expert guide to navigate the roads of recovery. In our private sessions, we apply the frameworks specifically to your life and your specific relationship dynamics. We move much faster and deeper than you can on your own.
2. Is this therapy?
No. While I am a licensed therapist, this coaching program is distinct. You do not receive mental health diagnoses or clinical treatment plans for mental illness in our coaching. We focus on the strategy, skills, and nervous system regulation to move from understandable codependent patterns to felt security and wholeness.
3. I’m very busy. How much time does this take?
This program is designed to be an initial time investment of weekly 60-minute sessions for one month.
After this initial month, we will explore what will best meet your personal needs to fully recover.
Many people experiencing codependency have many demands of their time – and often put themselves on the bottom of their “to-do” list saying they’ll get to themselves “later.” Of course, you may know from experience, later never comes but increasing burnout surely does.
Protecting time to invest in your recovery is in of itself an essential aspect of codependency recovery. Just by committing to this program, you have begun your recovery work.
4. Why a 1-month commitment?
Systemic rewiring takes time. Real change doesn’t happen in a single “aha” moment; it happens through consistent integration. This first month of weekly appointments allow you the time and space to begin to build a solid foundation for your recovery from codependency.
After the first month, we will reassess your progress and you will receive personalized recommendations on the frequency of appointments moving forward to allow you to ultimately graduate from coaching and recover from codependency.
Ready to Reclaim Your Peace & Bandwidth?
Stop spending your energy coping with anxious attachment and over-functioning for everyone else. Step into a space where your needs matter, your limits are honored, and your stability comes from within.
